Its another expensive copy of a machined primer holder which is a copy of Jeff's system. Another guy than copied Jeff's primer holder is Bobby Hart Nothing new about it and if you read what Luke says and I have to laugh that some sanding on the breech plug maybe necessary to get a good fit or a change in head space. This is the difference between a custom built 209 gun I build or a custom built HIS gun Jeff builds we machine are stuff right you may pay more up front but I assure you of one thing it will work properly ever time. Luke tries to cater to the do it yourself crowd which is ok but it is just not the same. From what I have seen (pics), the flame path is at minimum twice as long as the HIS plug (look at the module snout length). This takes away from the likeness to cartridges and begins to defeat at least some of the purpose for a large rifle primer. Also, the snout looks to be straight vs tapered like the HIS module. A tapered fit will seal better AND extract easier. As far as interchangeability, well, that is a pipe dream. A few people might get lucky and headspace be tolerable but most will be out of tolerance. Imagine you are a do it yourselfer and you order the system to go in your gun because you were told it was interchangeable. Then after installing it, the bolt will not lock into battery OR you get a face full of smoke when it didn't seal well because the headspace was too loose. Oh, I forgot, "just shim it if it is loose and sand a little off if it is too tight" We're not building tater guns here guys. Like IKE posted over there and was deleted, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" Nuff said... Scat. Tater guns,,,, I like that one... I guess Luke will be adding some more shim stock to his list of Muzzle loading supplies and a few rolls of emery cloth to supply with each plug kit.

Everyone has the right to make their own choices. I made mine and it was the H.I.S. Hankins Ignition System. I'm proud to say that my second Hankins Rifle is in the works and might be ready for the Spring shoot. It's amazing how members from the other board and even some here dedicated to 209's have beaten down Jeff and his ignition system, now praising the other option. Jeff has my business and I recommend Hankins Custom Rifles exclusively. Choose wisely. Kyle.... The beatings only make me stronger...... Thank you for your support..

Now for a message of my own.
I want to thank all those that have supported me and my business, I do sincerely appreciate it and I will be here to support you for as long as I possibly can. One thing I have learned since I first got into the social media thing (Doug's Board a few years ago) is there are plenty of loud mouth, done it all, I'm better than you, blow gut people out there. Those key board hero's that have nothing else to do but sit behind the computer and stir the pot. I have learned to ignore those people for the most part as I have a busy lifestyle and I have lived a good and active 49 years, I am able to see through most of the smoke and mirrors those people create. You just have to sit back, read the text and move on. I have no Idea how many happy customers I have but I do know I have 2 unhappy. Both of those wouldn't be happy if you handed them a gold brick, so no matter how hard you try, there will be someone, somewhere that you just can't make happy...... Lets all work together as a team so that we can make this sport of ours enjoyable, safe, and productive, let keep up the good work we have all done here.....

For someone who deer hunts only and does no range shooting with a muzzleloader, would you guys recommend 209 or large rifle primers? I picked up a .45-70 CVA Apex and it has not been converted yet. I'll most likely be using IMR 4198 and a 200-grain SST in a light blue Harvester sabot. I doubt that I'd be doing much hunting below 20 degrees, if at all. You know I am going to recommend my LRMP system. It is easy to use, seals 100% and goes bang every time. You also don't need to worry about water getting into the primer when the action is closed. A 209 will work also and is about $100.00 cheaper to install, but you run the risk of having a mis-fire, leaky seal between primer and plug and sometimes they want to stick in the plug and you need needle nose pliers to remove them. What about a guy that does not handload? I don't own a press. Are there other options for priming/depriming the modules?

You can just get a hand priming tool from rcbs or one of the other companies.

Hank, the 45-70 bergara encore barrel conversion you built for me last year is my first sml. I have been shooting muzzleloaders for over 35 years. Your system meets the following conditions which all have to be met for me to trust a system/product not only hunting but during my military career. Your system is reliabile, predictabable, durable, serviceable, cost effective and is easy to use...you nailed it! Thanks for a great product!

It's so very childish Children play these games (Mine is better than yours) I like this board because if you do some constructive criticism you don't get flamed for it. On the other board one must think before one says anything cause there will be some one to take offense. Lately I have been afraid to say anything over there for fear I will step on some ones toes I have learned in all my years that if you can't say something nice about some one don't say any thing at all

Jeff sells a kit that has everything you need in a box it comes with a depriming stand and punch if you don't have a press to deprive. Maybe someone will post a pic

Well said Jeff . I really believe the difference in your work is pride . I got a kick out of you when I built my first gun . I wanted to switch stocks and you wouldn't let me order it until you saw the stock . Lol mind you it was a $800 stock not a cheapy ! You wanted to make sure it was gonna look good besides function . I'm amazed on the fit and finish of your work . It's second to know one ! Thank you for everything you do .

If using a .45-70 Apex, can it be set up to use the factory extractor to pull the module out when the rifle is hinged open?

depriming is simple- here is what I use just a 1/8th"punch,socket & an old iron wrench just for the light tap.hammer not recommended,if so a very small one.
also a lee hand primer around $15 with a shell holder for .308 case head.

Jeff, Do you know how many guns/barreled actions you have done over the years? because 2 upset customers don't seem bad at all...... you have built me 4 guns in the last 2 yrs alone. As some of you know, I am a DJ by trade and i can guarantee you out of a party/wedding of 200-300 people you will always get 1-2 people that did not like the music or a Song that was played. Some people are just complainers by nature and some are followers........ unfortunately there are a few complainers on the other forum and a TON of followers. The saying is TRUE..... "YOU CAN NOT PLEASE EVERYONE" But we do our best to please them all, Wether you are a Rifle builder, DJ, or any other profession someone does. Keep up the good work and Customer service.

Jeff you are doing a great job Brother. I dismissed those few people over there for their actions a good while back. What I read now from those same few only reinforced my feelings. Keep up the good work Jeff.
