Thanks for your info, all that have the Scout V2 here have the HIS system installed. With the HIS the velocity will be a little slower but will check with the radar. But your info gives me a good estimated guess !

As mention back at the range, shot (2) 3 shot groups. With the CVA SCOUT V2 IMR 4198 65 grains with a Pittman 275 setting on a wool wad, the velocity from first to sixth as follows 1). 2562 2). 2556 3).2531 4.) 2615 5.) 2519 and 6.) 2500 what a difference, with the first shot of six, little pressure pushing down to set on powder charge, each other shot increased pressure on seating bullet with the first three shots fired about the same with second three, although more pressure on last two shots fired. I use a RCBS CHARGE MASTER powder scale, hopefully someone will have some idea of why pictures to follow,,,

Back when I had a scout conversion my load was 62 grains IMR 4198, wool wad and a Fury 275gr ‘MZ’. As long as the “nut behind the trigger” was working that load consistently went into a half-minute at 200 yards for a muzzle velocity of 2,482 (+/-) fps. When I did my velocity ladder the ‘sweet spot’ using Fury’s was in between 61 & 62 grains. I tried shooting the ‘recommended’ 65 grain charge several times, but never could get any more than 2+ inch groups at 200 yards out of it for a muzzle velocity just shy of 2,600 fps. Certainly fine for deer hunting at that distance, but I wanted tighter & more consistent groups…..even if it meant less velocity. 😇

I have them for both hunting and shooting, thanks for your input

JMO but I would try my starting charge at a lower charge rate and then go up.
Break action guns are harder to get to group than bigger, heavier bolt guns.
Keep in mind when you take speed readings that you need several shots through the barrel to get a consistent fouling before getting overly concerned about es and some powders are very different than others in this regard.

Well a small up date, I have been to the range with (2) more scouts both shot very well (no PICTURES, sorry) Had one for a newbe to the SCOPED muzzle loader rifle world and long story short he has now sold it to the owner of the other CVA SCOUT after getting punched between the eyes with the scope. The other gentleman he wanted it for his wife's son once he saw how these Scouts, cut holes at a 100 yards dead on at 200yds. 6 inches low at 300yds. So will be heading back out this week with a couple more will bring back some pictures and how they performed,,,, forgot to mention the friend that now has both SCOUTS he wants to use his without the brake so after zeroing at 100 with the brake POI elevation was the same and about 1/2 inch to right with this CVA,

well did make it to the range with the CVA fired it at 100 yards, picture will follow not bad for(2) shots BUT did not like the results at 200 and 300, compared to others. Got back home and adjusted the stock screw, feels a lot better now, sized a few more PITTMANS 275 and will have to go back. Most of the time at both 2 and 300 yards they group really well but with these they opened up,
