i've got a smokeless 45 woodman arms patriot (brux barrel) coming that should be ready this month . i'm gonna start with sabots and 40 cal. but i want to try full bore 45s after i get comfortable with it . the Hanks 45 sizer is on my to get list and i'll need a press . i won't be reloading anything , just need to size 45's for the 45 brux . the lee hand press has been recommended to be and i was wondering what y'alls thoughts and/or experiences with it are . i plan on using fury , arrowhead and pittman bullets when i go full bore . any reason to spend more for a bench press just for sizing bullets ? thanks , jeff

lee press is a good tool, you can find a rcbs on ebay but by the time searching you would have your lee and it will work find for all bullets mentioned,

Can’t beat a Lee hand held for the money. They are small and light weight. I keep one in my hunting range box for back up.
If your going to shoot over 100 shots a year I would pick up a RCBS.

You can do what you can size bullets with a hand press just fine. Having said that I got an RCBS Partner press. Pictures of my setup are on this thread: Press Suggestions. I found it was a better fit for me. I typically get loads setup once or twice a year in volume. I first use it to de-prime my HIS modules. I usually run them through my ultrasonic cleaner and then use the same press to prime them all. I also use it with Hank's sizing die to size my bullets. I then use Harrell's Custom 90 to dispense my powder charges into vials. This works pretty well for me. I want to have this available at the range, just in case. You can see I bolted the press to a board so I can clamp it to the shooting bench if necessary. Many guys just use a hand press. It just depends on your process.

lee press is a good tool, you can find a rcbs on ebay but by the time searching you would have your lee and it will work find for all bullets mentioned, Some others here have the LEE press as mentioned in this post and like it very well. I purchased a RCBS RC IV from EBAY and mounted to a 1/4 inch stainless plate that I clamp to the bench here at home and or at the range to the shooting bench. Now with that being stated I use this as a portable for my ML in my shop or for load developmentr at the range for seating depth for centerfire. I also have one mounted here at home for reloading at my reloading station.... Just looked at ebay and there are some listed at $60. $100. if there is a need,,,,,,,,,,,

Thanks folks , another forum (with folks I highly respect) recommended the lee handpress also. I figured I would ask here since I will be using hank's 45 sizing die . So I will stick with the lee hand press . Thanks again , jeff

The lee hand press will work but a bench model is so much more convenient. I have the Lee but never use it.

I like the fact that the lee press travels better and is sure handy for temp swings . Thats indespensible to me. I got both one being the rcbs RC but the lee hand press being easier portable i really like for smoth sized . Annealed Monos i like the RC best to full form with .

a few other people have also said the hand press does a good job , but they still prefer a bench type , even mounted to a board for portability . 2 weeks ago i found a deal i could finagle a RCBS rebel for about 170ish (getting bass pro to do a PM and ordering on tuesday to get %10 off that) ...... whatever i decide i'll order it when i order hanks sizing die and let him know what i'm getting incase he needs to modify it .
thanks again folks , jeff
