I used to use the Rock Chucker and although it worked extremely good, I found it not necessary for smooth sizing. I now use the LEE Hand Press and it works just as easy (For Me) and I can carry it to the range in my box. www.natchezss.com/lee-breech-lock-hand-press-lee90685

The Lee hand press is all you need to smooth size bullets, I keep one in my range bag just for that purpose. I know many guys that use them as well.

Thanks for the input! Are you guys using Hankins die? I have never sized bullets and had no clue how much force was required to smooth size...

I use Jeff’s dies. Smooth form pretty easy. Full form copper solids different story.

I have a RCBS and the Lee hand held press. Both are great. If I’m shooting for the weekend, I bring the RCBS press that’s mounted on a short 2x6 board and clamp it to the bench. If I’m shooting just for a hour or two I’ll take the Lee hand held press.

I use a RCBS Partner press, mounted to a 3 inch wide board, and 14 inches long. Sturdy enough for smooth sizing, and much lighter than a full size press.

I just bought 3 more, now I’ll have a dedicated press in each tool box for every SML I own.

I had the lee hand press years ago and gave it away. I wish I had kept it now.

I have the Lee hand press and had it for many years but there is nothing like sitting down at the bench with a bench press and doing your bullets.

Was looking at this one for smooth sizing....RCBS 9356 Rock Chucker Supreme Press I have the RCBS PARTNER™ PRESS which is a less expensive version of what you are looking at. It seems to do everything I need well for my Hankins Encore SML. I got the sizing die from hank for it to size my bullets. I have another die for de-priming, and it woks well for priming. So far, I've been using it as a portable press. I attached it to a small piece of 2x6 and use clamps to clamp it to whatever surface I'm using. When I get a better setup, I'll eventually bolt it to a bench permanently. I don't do any handloading, so I was just looking for something simple for my SML only. If you are doing other things, there may be better choices. My only slight complaint with it is de-priming the HIS modules. The dead primers come flying out a side port. I need to rig something up to catch them. I end up having to sweep them up when I'm done. It is a minor issue for me and I'm sure I can come up with some way to deflect the spent primers into a container. Here is a few pics De-priming die

I find it easier to deprime with Jeff's stand and punch. I reprime with a RCBS universal priming tool, no shell holder is needed.
I have a Rock Chucker, the Redding Ultramag, the Lee hand press and a turret press, I use the Hand press and the Ultramag most of the time, I use the Ultramag to full form, smooth form at home and to reprime DI modules, the Rock Chucker is used for CF loading mostly. For smooth forming all one needs is the hand press, the likelyhood of full forming for a .45 caliber is very slim.

I D prime using my rcbs RC IV.,, with my 7 mag die resizing die with the pin out for primer removal, just to push the primer out. shell holder # 38 for the scout, and #3 for the bolt gun, repriming RCBS hand UNIVERSAL priming tool... For bullet sizing the press works well at home and I have another for range time that I clamp to the shooting table....
