Just a update about Arken scope sent scope Monday morning they just texted me tracking #. Very fast turn around. This is good news . I bet Arken will beef them up if this is common . It may also be still yet a fluke thing ?? If nothing else that scope May give good service on a lighter recoiling 40 or a lighter loaded 45 ?? Either way im glad they took care of you .

How will it hold up to recoil of the SML ?

Lots of options in that price range for sure. The Delta Stryker so far has been a great scope, very good optically and it does everything you tell it to every single time so far.
More choices now than ever when it comes to optics. Yes the Chinese factories are even producing some decent stuff.
NF and some of the well known upper end manufacturing are getting squeezed on pretty hard by the up and comers

Just because a scope costs more doesn’t guarantee it won’t break. $$ generally buys better glass. SWFA over 10 years ago was rated as one of the top robust (tracking and holding zero) scopes on the market for $300. Sightron defied money spent on glass - for $800 you can still get glass on par with the other brands costing 3x as much. Are members sharing how they are breaking scopes ? It takes a good amount of abuse which a lightweight smokeless muzzy can dish out. Maybe even dropping the gun on the scope (Parallex knob) or hammering a bullet down the tube-or turning your turrets down tight like a gorilla - but who’s going to admit to that -lol. I believe a scope is a wear item. Use it enough - it will wear out or break. Abuse it -and it will happen sooner. “Buy once -Cry once” -I don’t agree with that statement- seen every brand break. I have over 1100 punishing (dropped on the ground and pounded bullets down the tube) rounds on an Arken SH4 gen2 ($450 scope). It will probably cease to work -maybe the next shot? I can’t honestly say that big$$ scopes would have held up this long under the abuse I’ve put this scope through as I’ve broken several with way less round count. I do like nightforce scopes a lot - but I don’t think the average or even long distance hunter or tactical shooter needs one to compete or hunt successfully. If your into benchrest and competing at the top of the game -yes. I buy scopes to use them and try not to abuse them- but abuse them I do and often. When a scope breaks from abuse like hammering rounds or shooting a high recoiling muzzy without a brake- hopefully it has a great warranty.

Just in case people have not looked, the SWFA SS 6x42 has about the same FOV at 100yards as a Leupold 4.5x variable on low. I prefer a 2x low on my hunting scopes but 4ish low is still pretty serviceable. The SWFA SS fixed are just hard to beat for the guy/rifle thats rough on scopes. The non HD line are all made by Kenko at the same plant that makes the Sightron SIIIs and above. Some or all the HD models are made by LOW. Years ago Sightron also had a SII or SIII 10x42 rear focus. Other than the reticles it was very similar.
The guy that just wants to enjoy recreational range time with a scope that works....get a 10x42 SS in Mil Quad when they are on sale. Great reticle and a solid scope you can sell anytime without losing a cent.
