I've hunted three straight days in west Tennessee an have seen an increase in buck sightings each day. Definitely seeing more bucks than does. Some of the does I'm seeing are by themselves, some are with little bucks, but I have seen no chasing. Everyone chime in.

Western NY: Seek and chase is peaking right now with many good bucks we did not know about making aoppearances. Bucks are being seen in the middle of the day just standing in the open. Many small "displaced" deer wandering around. My buddy and I believe that the actual breeding is just about to begin. This will make it more difficult since a buck with a receptive doe can spend 1-2 days in a 40 yd circle.
Been both a frustrating year having 3 very close encounters inside 40 yds involving 2 very big bucks but not getting a shot. Been rewarding too since we went into the season with little hope of any real good bucks around. My partner runs 8 camera's and in 2 months not getting anything over approx 140 at all! Yesterday, he almost stepped on a monster and then saw another one later in the day at a distance. I've seen 2 shooters that have never stepped in front of the camera.
Good luck everyone.

Traditionally here in western Ohio Veterans Day has been an excellent day to be in the woods.

I have been in the woods since our early ml season, however a few good friends have been seeing some movement and one guy I work with shot a big one yesterday with a bow. Opening day for us is Saturday and I hope to hunt a few hours before I go into work.

In Little Rock Arkansas the rut is on like a pot of neck bones. Just saw the 8 point i've been getting pictures of but only in the wee hours of night, he was down in field at 5pm herding does and fighting with a little fork horn. I've posted pics of the bigger bucks here. The big boys don't come out around here till it's peak, so i say it is now officially the peak rut here.
The 8 point looks to be maybe 4 years old and still has some very good years ahead of him if someone doesn't kill him. He's definitely got good genes for the breeding stock. Very symmetrical and healthy looking.

I saw a nice buck in my back yard today at 10:00. He was walking around like he was drugged. Brings back memories of my younger days. Few years ago watched a 3 yr old 8 pt one morning pop out of a thicket and join the ladies he was on top of the world he was looking good and pocket full of money. Week later about noon watched him return to that thicket limping with couple tines broke off. Looking pretty ruff. So much like life when we were young men .

Deer season firearm indiana opened yesterday and spent the day in a cedar blind seen7 different bucks and 23 does. 8:45am had a very nice9 pt that would push 140" 3 yr old and 5:15 pm 10 pt near 150" 4yr old had to look at him several times but just not what im after. Was a great day in gods creation and future looks good. I have a 9 yr old buck called thing which is what im after . Freezer meat does will come when temps drop late December.
At least bucks were looking for does yesterday so big boys will be getting freed up soon to be competing for does.
