I ordered one yesterday gonna take off the vortex PST just not real impressed with the glass on the vortex. I hear this on many forums about the Vortex which has kept me from buying one. That and I cant see the numbers on the mag ring without glasses. There is a lot of guy that shoot long range with Vortex scopes, both the Razor and PST's. I have not had any problem seeing a 12"x12" plate at 1165 yds and getting hits with my 4-16 PST.

Kevin I would ask them for a return shipping label and let them check out the clarity problem. I have sent scopes back to Leupold, Burris, Nikon and others. Some needed repaired/replaced and have had one returned as no problems detected. Its worth the trouble to let them check it out.

I think I'm going to because I have not heard this complaint from anyone else.

I have 20/20 vision and not sure that means anything just saying that because someone mentioned those who have good eye sight don't notice a poor quality optic as well. Either way I love my vortex viper HS and can tell a difference with it and a Simmons whitetail classic I have so I'd imagine that a vortex viper compared to a night force would be noticable. I will find out sooner or later.
I'd still send it in and see what they say of they say no problem found them I'd sell it and get what you want. Good luck.

Another reason I think that their might be a problem is when you have it on full power 16 you cannot get the cross hairs to stay in focus it's hard to describe and it doesn't matter if illumination is on or not. Maybe it's me I Don't know!!

took the 4x20 out today and fired 21 shots, it did exactly what i told it to @ 100 yds and I never had to touch the side focus once I initially focused it for the first bullet, that's a good sign. I will post up some pics tonight but I think it will be a good value if it keeps going like it is now. glass clarity seems on par with VX IIIs or maybe slighty better, not quite as good as the SIII or the 2.5x17.5 with HD glass (tops both I think) but it seems pretty good, I like the reticle. it has a dot in the center of the MOA hashes and its great on targets. it might be a little thin at last light against a dark back ground? time will tell.. my only gripe today on the scope is the windage turret which sure sticks way out there, thus an accidental spin right. Kash 750 ML test action version 1 Black Hole .458 polygonal barrel Leupold PRW low rings 275 parker BE (first 5 shots) 300 parker BE for the rest, all over 70 grains IMR 4198 shot from bipod and bag first two got on paper and #3 got it close, never moved the turrets again except I accidentally hit the windage turret with my wrist before shots 21 & 22 when closing bolt which went right, on shot 14 the bipod swivel lever loosened and rotated the gun right upun firing thus the low right shot, no excuses just the way it happened. overall the barrel didn't shoot bad but it did much better with wads with the 300s, the poly rifling sure feels weird pushing a bullet down though..

It is amazing what muzzle loaders have evolved to! Nice package Bill................I think you would blow a game wardens mind coming upon one of these during muzzle loader season!

The stock is pretty functional for a center fire and it folds up very nicely, meant for the tactical guys but not really my cup of tea on a muzzleloader. Kash was kind enough to send it to get some feed back and I was glad to do so. If someone would do a similar model out of carbon fiber to get the weight down it would be very cool.
I hope this action fills a niche for guys who want a good platform to build from without doing a CF form. certainly nothing wrong with center fire actions, just puts another choice out there.

I would be happy to hear anything else you have to say about the chassis system. I half hate the look but function over form prevails sometimes. I am building a PRS rifle this year and am keeping an open mind so any thoughts you come up with on that stock and chassis would be appreciated.

linebaugh the AI chassis is very nice, it has lots of adjustment, LOP, cheek riser, the folding stock locks up rock solid, the keymod system is very functional and the attachment for the float tube is solid but comes off easily, the grip feels good and the mag release looks to be positioned correctly and easy to get to without being obstructive. if I were looking for a chassis system this one would be hard to beat.

Bill, Shot the 4-20 this morning love the dot reticle. I can see what you are talking about at last light or first light with the dot not being illuminated. Why is the 2.5-17 twice as expensive? Better glass?

I'm pretty sure the 2x17 has HD glass ( made in the Phillipines ) and I think it is a 56mm . I have 2 4x20 S Tacs and one SIII . I can't really see much of a difference in the glass .
