I don't believe I got the greatest barrel from CVA. After extensive Fury and Parker sizing experimentation heres what I've found. Beginning with the largest bullet that can be hand started, the first 5-6 inches is really really hard to push. Then the next 10 inches takes a little force, but then there is zero resistance for the last 5 inches to the breech. I'm having misfires where the primer shoots the bullet 15 feet. From reading this forum, a duplex load or a sabot might solve this. Since I want to reduce recoil anyway, i'm thinking on going with the blue Harvester sabots and the Fury 40 cal or Barnes 195 Gr. Knurl and wad ? Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

If this is a barrel issue, would lapping be an option?

You're having to size it small enough to make it through the choked area and then it's too loose once it gets to the breach end. You can solve your problem by shooting Harvester sabots and 40 caliber bullets, but that's not the best solution. You need to lap your barrel to get rid of the choked condition. Read my first post and my last post in the thread linked below and you will see that's exactly where I ended up. CVA Scout – Lap the Barrel or Shoot Sabots
