I bought 50 of Kyle's 250 AccuMax's that I want to try in my Encore. The Encore has a 28" MGM 1" dia. Full Bull Brux with a 1-20" twist in .45 Cal. I have shot this gun using the Barnes 195BX with a Harvester Light Blue Sabot. The Barnes did not really impress me as I tried all kinds of different loads and powders. So wanting to keep the bullet weight down on this gun I thought I would try Kyle's 250's Sabotless. Can anyone lend a helping hand on what to start with as far as load combo's? Thanks in advance Guys..................
Should have added... I have on hand H4198 I4198 SR4759 and RL7
The gun is using an ASG 209 Plug and I'm using Fed 209A's if this helps at all.

I shot my Apex. 25" 209bp the other day with 250BE and 250XTP with win. 209 primer 60gr RL7 and veggie wad both bullets grouped at 1" or a little less @100yds @ a little over 2200fps. With a 28" barrel your would shoot a little faster? 4198 powders probably a little faster and cleaner.

People are shooting the same setup with 275's and 4198. I don't have this setup, but if I did I probably would try their proven load plus 3 to 4 grains max.

I haven't shot my 250 Accumaxs yet cuz I just got a sizer. I have shot 250 be's with 58 grains imr 4198 and they grouped great with very little recoil. I think we can go up to 70 and still be safe with the 250's. I've got a CVA Hunter with HIS.

Try with and without a wad, snug fit but not two arms of pressure.

My group with the 250 be's was about 6 inches without a wad. Exact same bullet and powder with a wool wad went to about an inch and a half immediately. Go figure.

The wool wad is giving you more consistent velocity. Had the same issue with my TC and when I went to a .60 veggie wad the gun started shooting well. I starting shooting each shot through a chronograph and without the veggie wad I was experiencing some extreme differences in velocity. Good luck

The barrel diameter on break open guns are typically smaller then the common bolt action Remington 700 / Brux #17 build. Most are shooting between 55-60 grains of IMR 4198 out of break open guns with a 275 grain bullet. Not sure of the maximum charge with the 250 grain bullet, however you may what to get advise from other members on the board before you shoot 70 grains of IMR 4198 out of a break open gun. Better to be SAFE THEN SORRY !!!

I also used a .060 veggie wad. 56gr will group equally well.

Out of my CVA Scout with a Module set up, shooting 59.5 gr of I 4198 with a 270 E Max avg. speed 2500 fps, less then 1 inch group at 100 yards. For my set up, this works the best. 209 set up using a wool wad avg. speed 2390 same results. Shooting without a wad, 6 to 7 inch group.

From almost all feedback I have received recently, the break open guns tend to shoot very accurate, if not most accurate, with a wool wad.

With my module system or DI, same results with or without a wool wad.

If it were me it would be a 10/50 duplex of 4759/4198 with the 250's.
