I was doing some testing for an article and ended up with a pretty bullet weight tolerant load. If you are shooting 300-325gn and can't find one of the 4198s take a look at 76-78gn H322:

I asked this on the other board ........what speed are you getting? Thats a nice group and five shots to boot! Weather is garbage so I didn't take the chrono. Tomorrow is supposed to be partly cloudy and I have 30 more ready to go. Should get a read tomorrow but I would guess around 2600fps based on some math I did to get me into my velocity band.

H322 probably the most over looked powder for bullets in this weight range. Looking good & possibly better with 316 bomb

I went out to retest the other night and accuracy went to hell after I put the first couple of shots in the same hole. Got home and three of four scope bases loose. Looks like the scope base was the issue without a doubt based on another little group today. I went ahead and cleaned up the bore since I had the gun apart and H322 doesn't seem particularly dirty but as stated before I have shot hundreds of rounds through the barrel this year so there was no way to say how clean H322 is or is not. Cold/Clean bore punched out the X-ring, the next six went into a sub-half minute groups. The target blew down after shot number 5, so I rehung it and shot another, then it blew down again. Two other guys were shooting so I just left it lay and shot the last three into the berm for the MV reading.

Very nice...you mentioned your velocity band on another thread ,the 2690 ft/sec looks to be on a node....Did you find it by ladder test or just came across it with this load...?

I use a modified ladder and identify how tolerant my barrel is to variance. Makes changing powders easier because I just jump to that band quickly.
