I had 200 worth of gift cards burning a hole in my pocket the last 6 mos. Dropped them on a new Glock 43. And picked up a Ruger SP101 .357 2.25 barrel also. Been wanting to go "function" check them. I think I will hit the range for a few today. It will also give me a chance to "function" check my new Otis hearing protection. 50 MPH winds today so probably be happy to hit paper. Drop

Well I am back from the range. It was a successful trip. I couldn't hit anything but the sun was shining and the wind was blowing. (Messed up my hair) Everything was hitting high and left both guns. The Ruger has fixed sights...so I got to overcome that. That little gun has some VERY NASTY recoil with 158gn soft point. .357 mag Fed's. Trigger guard came back in my middle finger like a hammer. Yup I AM a sissy . That is why I carry a gun..... Not really...At least as to why I carry anyway...the sissy part about recoil...yup SISSY. It was so bad I dreaded the last 3 shots. Then up teeth the WW 158 soft points. In .38spcl. Now we're talking....totally manageable....actually quite pleasant. I only have 1box of25 of them personal defense rounds from Winchester in +P so didn't try them yet as they are $$$$$$ gonna wait till I get more used to the gun. It is such a neat sweet little gun. Can't help but like it. Quite the pocket beast. Now on to the Glock 43 .....what can I say....pocket carry works well shoots the 115 Feds better than the Blazer 124. Jus all around fun to shoot. I only shot 10yds with both. As I would have to wade to get to the other targets. Big storms here last night. All my Glock'are boring....ugly to look at...and easy to shoot....But I sure do like them... The Gen4without any backstrap fits my hands well.I may invest in some Pachmeyer or Hogue for the Ruger to fill my hand a little better. Well a good day at the range.... better go fix my hair now Drop

Like Keith said better than being at work. Love my Glock 26 and would probably have bought the 43 if it had been out at the time. I have a Lorcin 9mm that was given to me and has a safety in the backstrap that will eat your hand up so it never gets shot but is under the seat if needed.

I dropped the 1911 after a decade of shooting nothing but because the pivot portion of the safety would tear my thumb up. I don't have real big hands and it was killing me. Nothing makes a gun less fun to shoot than being painful to shoot.

I have put spring& shim kits in my sp101 &super redhawk. Also in about 7 other da rugers. That 357 is a hand full, but not bad shooting 38 for target. Also on the glock ghost inc. in Miami,Fla sells a reduced trigger pull trigger connector drop in 3.5lbs.Trigger Shims Inc has shims for trigger/hammer and reduced trigger and hammersprings for the sp101.There are you tube videos on doing both.If you would like the feel of a higher end gun.Dennis

Hey Drop. If you have any desire to do something about the "boring, ugly to look at" Glocks in your collection take a look at Middlebranch machine. He runs a Facebook page for his business. I've had him work on my 17 and my 19c. They're no stock pistol any longer. You won't find many boring Glocks on his Facebook page. Perhaps a few that inspire some work on your own guns. Take a look sometime.
