Justice Scalia has died and Obama or the next president will be naming the next justice. This next presidential election may be more important for what justices the president will name than for what the next president says he/she will do. Make sure it is not Hillary.

His body hadn't even assumed room temperature yet and each side is already either saying they will appoint someone or saying they will not confirm someone. The debate started with it. There is no respect it seems and he should have been properly eulogized before the sharks swam in. This guy was one of the good guys for 30 years.
To replace him with even an equal, we will still have a very tight bench. Anyone less and we have a problem Houston.

He was truly a decent representative for christian and family values. He said this at his granddaughters high school graduation last June: The body of scientific evidence supporting creation science is as strong as that supporting evolution. In fact, it may be stronger…. The evidence for evolution is far less compelling than we have been led to believe. Evolution is not a scientific “fact,” since it cannot actually be observed in a laboratory. Rather, evolution is merely a scientific theory or “guess.”… It is a very bad guess at that. The scientific problems with evolution are so serious that it could accurately be termed a “myth.”… flagman

He was a great supporter of the Constitution as it was written. Most knew that, and many despised him for it. He and Justice Thomas have been corner stones for the law to be as it should be in this country. Recently, they have been out voted too many times by the "dark side" of the Supreme Court.
Perhaps the info was out there, but until last night I did not know he was both a hunter AND an opera fan! It's a bit sad that news reporting about such an interesting person comes out after they die.
Whether the populace realizes it or not, this country is at an extreme loss without him.
Very, very few times does the remote change the channel or go on "mute" when O'blabber comes on the boob tube, but last night I listened to his speech about Justice Scalia. It began with praises and nice things about Scalia's service, but I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Sure enough......his Constitutional duty to immediately nominate a successor, and the Senate's duty to approve the nomination. One only needs to wonder which liberal activist it would be this time! Chick-McConnell says it ain't gonna happen during this session. Guess he's serious about putting his foot down...this time....maybe.

God has no place in politics and if the republicans don't change their way of thought, the liberals will take over and God will be gone, anyway..... Along with our constitutional rights! The younger generation is going by way of evolution and will continue to vote for progressives that give them free shit, leave God out, give gay rights and are pro abortion. As a conservative, I can see us loosing very badly over the next 20yrs (as the boomers die out and the young generation comes on board) just my opinion and something to think about.

God has no place in politics Not quite what the Founders thought. The country ran pretty well until He started getting kicked out of everything, everywhere. It was by no means perfect, but a lot better than the mess it is in now. The libs may very well take over, no matter what.....then their allies, the mudslimes, and we shall all woo that day, including the libs.

Won't argue or debate religion on the webs, will never see eye to eye with someone. But religions as a whole has brought lots of death to this world in the name of gods. So, I am really not seeing the running great other than back then, all was religious and now more and more, are not. People do not need fear of eternal damnation to have morals and compassion and if the threat of that is the only reason they show empathy...... Then they was never religious to begin with.
Won't respond again! As I said, never ending pissing match.

The SCOTUS has leaned to the right for the last 50 years. With 11 months left in Obamas term to appoint a new justice and the possibility of a Democrat getting elected due to the weak republican field things may lean left for the rest of my life. I may have to vote in November holding my nose.

They hear free and student loans forgivin and free schooling and they're all for it! I think we all will be holding our noses this year! The candidates that we have been given is horrible, on both sides! I have always voted pretty much a straight right ticket but find myself disagreeing with more and more republicans (not on things I consider important) but I am right leaning as far as small government and economy reasons but am pro choice, an atheist and pro gay rights or just plain human rights is more how I see it. So it definitely caused some heated debates and the reason that I will not partake, any longer.

there are good candidates in the mix if you care to do your home work, take a long hard look at Cruz and then tell me they are all horrible, the man knows the constitution inside out and stands on it, period. He has done more in his short time as a republican than ANY other candidate running. Like I said, take a long hard look at where he comes from and what he has accomplished.
I'm afraid the Demi's have such a large voter base of hand out mentality zombies that they will be hard to out vote, freebies win votes, sad but true..

As a whole this generation doesn't turn out at the poles. If they can't vote on their phone, they will wait for someone else to do it for them. Very few will drive their Prius that daddy bought them to go vote.
