My old HP printer that used cartridges is soon to be an extended range target. I ordered and received from Epson yesterday a new Epson ET-4550 that utilizes ink wells instead of cartridges. The printer came with enough ink to print 11,000 black and 8500 color pages. Setup was a breeze and took about 30 minutes. I printed about 20 pages last night and everything came out good. No more cartridges!!! A complete cartridge change for my old printer was to the tune of $75.00. From my research and from what little I have seen so far, I am extremely pleased and would recommend this printer for anyone that prints a large volume of pages per year.

That sounds like a good unit Kyle. I refill my own cartridges so right now it's pretty economical. I was thinking of a continuous ink system (CIS) but we don't print that awful much. If we do get a new printer, which is in the offing, the printer you got is high on our list. www.cisinks.com/?gclid=CMvkmsPR8soCFQuGaQodqSQKAQ

I've had an Epson Workforce 845 4 in 1 machine in my home office for about 4 yrs. now and have been very happy with it (except of course buying ink), but I don't do any hi volume printing.
I had a cannon printer before that and used to take my empty cartridges to an ink store to get refilled. When the printer head went DRT Cannon said the refilled ink I was using was the cause.
And of course my 3-4 yr. old cannon was then obsolete and I could no longer just buy a replacement printer head, so ended up replacing it with the Epson.

I went the toner route a few years ago too. The ink cartriges were a racket for sure. We print quite a bit between my targets and my wife's coupons. I just refill the toner about once per year for 5 bucks.
