did not take long to shake out a nice group- "f" was 1st bullet on oxidized bore, made a bullet adjustment larger marked b adj, still was slightly too loose so made another adjustment,it was slightly tighter than I usually like for this bore but since #1 & #2 almost same hole added # 3(lower bullet ).

Those Pittman bullets are looking good. Now stretch them out to 600.

Those results speak for themselves. And that's some fine shooting too.

5 hours ago . Those Pittman bullets are looking good. Now stretch them out to 600.
xring & I did take some mz's/bullets out to 362yds & 625yds today- it was windy/muddy as all get out,had parkers keyholing, bullets were not fitting the barrel right so we will re-punt next weekend. got to go back through all components etc /might have ran some though wrong die maybe.......shot the wrong board/distance a few times. happened!
embarrassing-looked like I never shot long range before.
one thing is for sure-past 500yds+ w/ a sml is tedious & dicey especially in high winds.

Nice shooting Jeff and yes you are right..............stretching it out past 500 with unknown wind conditions along the bullets route of travel can be dicey!

Excellent group deadeye! I shot in a really gusty wind on Friday at 300 and I had a terrible time until I found out the front trigger guard screw was loose. Was causing the gun to shoot about 10 inches low at 300. Did have problems with the wind as well but that was not the main issue...

Just curious Scott............This is on a Remington? Normally any screw in the front is only there to keep the guard in place when removing the action? I have seen some bench rest guns with out any screw in that location at all? So how did this affect accuracy? (I hope we are talking about the same screw?) If the rear screw, which goes into the tang of the action, is tight, the guard will generally not move? Just trying to understand as I might be missing something?

Yes Remington 700ML action. The first shot at 300 had been loaded since mid Dec. hit 10 inches low so I thought well it had been loaded and hunted with for a couple weeks in Dec. then in the safe until Friday. Put a fresh duplex load in it and same point of impact with the next three shots. This is the load I shoot all the time so I knew at this point something was wrong so I started checking scope screws and stock screws which is when I found the front trigger guard screw loose. Reloaded and shot again and the impact height was back right where it should be. Don't understand it but that is what happened.

stale load-don't be fooled again! been there done that. these guy's that claim a load all season or what ever are only fooling themselves~ probably good to bout 100yds max or less in the deer zone.
