Hello all , just had a couple of questions about powder . First I have some IMR 8208 XBR sitting on the shelf I need to burn , I’d like to shoot 100 rounds through my barrel to get it sped up and would prefer to not use the hard to find powders for that . Does anybody have a good middle of the road load for 250 grain bullets and 8208 XBR . Running a Jeff built bolt rifle .45 cal #6 Brux w/ 5 inch shank . Second , im debating between IMR 4198 and H4198 . IMR4198 is supposedly temperature sensitive AKA will produce different velocities at same charge between hot and cold temps , any real life data on this from anyone ? Thanks in advance .

8208 works well with 300s, 250s will be too light 4198 will be the better choice

Yep…what hillbill said. I WOULD NOT use that 8208XBR for “barrel break-in” (or with 250gr bullets)…..it’s certainly not an easy-to-find powder these days.
