Anyone here ever have issues with your composite stock or forearm becoming very sticky, I have a CVA Apex with the 22-250 barrel & 7mm-08, .45 & .50 ml. the stocks and forearm are very sticky even one with camo on the forearm. I did get a hold of BPI and they will exchange the Apex with a CVA scout but only 1 barrel. It's very sad for what we pay for a product and BPI doesn't stand behind on what they sell. So fare I've taken the stock and forearm and soaked it in Murphy oil soap and scrubbed them and I'll follow up with isopropyl. Any other suggestions? ?

Don't trade it. The Apex was the best (IMO) rifle CVA built. The stocks all became sticky with that crap they put on them to give it a softer feel. It's kinda like a limbsaver pad. It looks good for a year or two then starts to melt. Boyds might make a replacement stock for the Apex and if they do I think it would be a good investment for you.

I already checked with Boyd and they don't list any. So far the Murphy oil soap has worked in removing the crap that's on it, next is the alcohol scrub, the I'll camo paint everything. THANKS Hank.

All of my Apex stocks are doing it too. I will eventually strip and repaint or hydro dip them. My old Bowtech bow with soft-touch is fine, so far.

Just wondering are you the guy I sold my apex 45-70 converted barrel to years ago. What I did with the stock and 4 forearms was soak them in warm water and 1 cup of Murphy oil soap, that nasty coating came right off with steal wool then rinsed really good then dried it all then took steal wool and 91% alcohol and scrubbed it all again. They all came out clean as a whistle. Now on to painting them all. Good luck.

No, my barrels were converted by Bestill. I will give that technique a try with mine.
