I don't have a chronograph and was wondering what I may be getting shooting 60 gr of h4198 and Pittmans 253 gr bullets. Thanks. And I finally got my first smokeless kill tonight. About 40 yards and it left a big hole in his chest.

I can tell you what a max charge of IMR4198 does under the following conditions. This is at 56*F, 40% humidity and about 400' elevation using Federal 215 primer and HIS.
IMR4198 65gn 253HC = 2515fps (5 shot average)

Our hunting group shoots that same load in in 3 different 45 cals. With HIS ignition, that load shoots 2625 - 2645 fps, in 2 others with 209 primers it goes 2585 - 2595 fps. That load has worked well for us on several deer on broadside shots, only one was not a pass through, it hit quartering and was under the hide after going through the shoulder. The bullet was flat, about like a quarter in size...
