Well, down to a week and change before the MI opener. Got the 25-06 out to do an ammo test. Grabbed up 3 different loads, as the factory loads I sighted in with have become untrustworthy in the woods (how I'm getting a 20% misfire rate on factory ammo is a mystery). 1st load shot poorly... 3.5-4" at 200 yards. Switched to load #2 and Woohoo! 3/4" at 200 yards! Had to make a minor adjustment in windage and started center-punching the bullseye. All dialed in, and a ton of doe tags waiting... I'm pretty sure this is gonna be fun. LOL gd

Sure sound like fun to me. I’m leaving for Tennessee for gun season on Sunday but I’ll be doing it the hard way with a muzzleloader!

Nicely done man, good luck. I did the same last night with my 7mm RM. Was hitting about 1MOA right so glad I checked, but sure was happy to see a 3/4 3-shot group at 285yd. Moose and deer better watch out.

Just wondering are you getting light strike on the primers, if so maybe your in need of a new firing pin spring.

Just wondering are you getting light strike on the primers, if so maybe your in need of a new firing pin spring. I've had the bolt apart and degreased eveything. Checked the firing pin, and its hitting plenty hard. Probably just a bad lot of ammo. Everything else goes bang every time.
