I am in the process of having a conversion done on a rem ML action. Will be a hunting rig in Virginia, so not real cold most of the time. Plan is too use CEB bullets if they will fly, 250-300 gr, they also have a 160 gr I may try, I do love speed. If these will not fly will use barnes t EZ 290. I will either smooth or full form swage depending upon the bullet size. Seems the go to load for a lot of smokeless is 4198 and if duplexed seems 4759 or 110. I am getting ready to purchase a 8# jug of powder, because it is available now and who knows later, and just wanted to get the most likely used powders. Opinions? brent

I assume you are talking a .45?? The powders you have mentioned are probably the most talked about and used. I use a duplex of 4759/4198 in both of my .45 Rem. ML builds. There are also guys using Clays, Red Dot, Blue Dot etc.for boosters.

I have used it and it works fine but 4198 is a bit cleaner burning.

I would especially consider Clays or RD for the TEZ's as your booster. Those solid copper bullets don't like to swell with straight charges and I have found the faster boosters work better............that is why I say Clays or RD. Your results may vary!

Richard, do you think the N110 as a booster is not enough for the solid copper bullets?

Not Richard but I've used N110 successfully as a booster withe TEZ's... 11/59 N110/H322 has worked very well. This gets you about 2700fps with the 250gn bullets...Accurate and deadly....I think like Richard on the Clays or Red Dot as being a great starter.Currently I shoot 7/60 Clays/H4198 and it's working great. Good luck Zen
