I just know that this has “never” happened to anyone except me -LOL !
So I’ll just tell my events that took my streak of shooting 43 shots in a row of at .400 total to shooting several 3 shot groups at over 2”
You can laugh at me and call me names but it wasn’t fun at all when it unfolded.
So here it goes and this is painful -but my therapists -a few on this board - told me I had to do this.
1-scope went bad at 1500 rounds but it actually wasn’t because after I sent it back - I found a broken scope ring and the base damaged.
2- new scope came back wrong and had to be sent back again.
3-everything put back together and impacts kept going to the right -didn’t read instructions- rings are to be retorqued a day later -so scope was loose in the rings.
4-vertical stringing -rear action screw loose.
5-trigger pull kept increasing -was 6oz and went up to 2lbs. I bent the trigger taking the stock off and on.
6- bolt issues -firing pin was slow intermittent - took it apart and cleaned it up -it was pretty bad inside.
7-bipod was loose.
8- I started to second guess my shooting form and tried different things and just plain got frustrated - and that really was likely the biggest issue of all.
9- darn near had to call a shrink because hunting season isn’t too far off-and this is my hunting rig- and it’s being loaned/used on a San Juan bull elk hunt in Utah that took 26 years to draw. I’ll be there on the hunt as a spotter.
Moral of my story. And I should know better - been shooting forever but didn’t do it.
PRE -OP your equipment !
And BTW - it’s shooting tack sized groups again - big relief.
Feel free to admit some of your issues so I can feel better about myself. Lol !
