It’s a very sad day when your 8 pound jug of H4895 runs out.

I’m sorry But I’m laughing my rear end off right now ! I’m not laughing at you - laughing with you.
When you get your new powder (and the big question is when….) you’ll probably have to adjust the volume a grain or 2 to Match. I’m presently mixing 6 -1 lb containers of varget -2 different lots. Much sadness when the recipe is empty.
Ok I’m still laughing…….😂😂 but there’s also some tears.

I feel ya. I’m down to the last unopened pound of H4895 with no replacement in sight unless it’s $100+ per pound from the scalpers on Gunbroker. It’s getting locked away for hunting purposes only.
On a bright note, I did just get 8 pounds of Benchmark which I’ve never played with. I hear it’s pretty good with 300 grain pills. I guess the 325’s will get put away with the H4895.
I have a few pounds of IMR 4895, but haven’t tried it either.
Hopefully in the near future powder will again become plentiful and at least somewhat affordable. I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Lol

You’re got that right Jim, it’s unreal what’s going on. I also think the government is using fictitious business names to order this stuff and packing it in warehouses in who knows where to keep it out of our hands.

We've cut way back on all shooting. Mainly 22lr, 22hornet, 223, and 450bm, stuff that's efficient or we have the most components for.
Just got to keeping picking up components as they show up. Wife says "another # of powder?", or "another brick of primers?" I said its money in the bank in todays times.

I found a brick of small rifle primers at bass pro a couple months ago and made mistake of asking for price check with wife next to me, lol. She said "you gonna pay a $100 for that little box?" Yep no shipping and no hazmat,

I am mainly shooting my short range BR .223 since it uses less than a third of powder compared to the .45 SML. Primers for it have been readily available along with the powders I use. Still waiting for the small rifle modules from Jeff

I’m planning to try IMR 4895. I know I’ll have to add more powder to match the speed of H but IMR is available at my LGS.

Since N530 lies between IMR 4895 and H-4895, I would start at around 95 grains! I have shot 105 grains with 300 grain bullets so dropping 10 grains should be a safe starting point.
