I measured the trigger pull on my scout at 3.25 lbs. Not terrible but I would like it to be between 2 and 2.5 lbs. Does anyone have experience with trigger adjustment or trigger replacement on a Scout?

I just got a new Scout and the trigger pulls at 22 oz, it is very crisp with no creep but a bit light in my opinion. No way could it b used with gloves. It will have to b treated like a set trigger.

If you got a 22 oz factory CVA Scout trigger, better keep it to yourself. I've got second dibs.... gd

Does anyone have experience with trigger adjustment or trigger replacement on a Scout? Do this. Make sure the gun is uploaded and pointed in a safe direction. With the hammer cocked push your thumb hard on the hammer the same time you pull the trigger a bunch of times and that will polish the sear and matting surfaces. I hold back on the hammer after the trigger releases so it’s not like a dry fire.

I used polishing paste after my first season. Just kept working it without letting it fall for many times. I like the trigger now. Made sure I flushed out the grit real well and used gun grease on the sear.

It made it much better. I never measured mine before or after, but was told the factory pull on them is 3 lbs. I'd guess I took at least 1 lb out of it, it's very hair trigger now!

Mateo, I am happy it worked out for you. I had a few that took little effort but most I had to do what I suggested a bunch of times and some that I sprayed brake cleaner in the trigger mechanism to get the grease out so it would polish easier and re applied a spray lubricant afterwards.

I did this several times over the course of the last few weeks and also have now shot about 65 rounds through the gun. I noticed during my last range session that the trigger felt much better. I measured it today and it is now breaking at 2.25 lbs. It feels great and took very little effort to get it there. Thanks!

You’re welcome. I knew it would work so I just wanted to pass it on.
