So I took my barreled action out of the bell and Carlson m40 with the aluminum bedding block for the first time since I fitted it and lined it up it probably has 50 shots or so on it. Everything looks fine no places rubbing that I can see but the recoil lug doesn't look like it is mating up with stock should I bed this area or should I put it back together and see if poi changes? The gun shoots lights out right now. I have never bedded a stock before although I have read hillbill's tutorial and I feel like a pro!! Not really a little scared to atempt. Suggestions please.

If you gun is shooting that good? Why mess with it? It would not hurt to rough up the lug abutment, put some release agent on the lug and the a little J-B weld............Maybe it will then shoot light, lights out! Can't hurt! I bed EVERY stock no matter what type of block the manufacturer puts in.

I too bed them all but then Im a bedding nut . Like Richard said, if you don't want to do a full bed then bed the lug area..
