Smokeless powder requires pressure (compaction density) to ignite reliably, Wads in 209 guns help, as does tight fitting bullets, hot primers such as the 209A also improves ignition. Back in the day we recessed our vent liners and later bushings to shorten the flame path which improved ignition. Guess I'm still living "back in the day". Still exclusively use duplex with both LRMP and 209's. Still harvest deer without T-Rex loads. BP in one rifle is recessed while the other is not...doesn't seem to make a difference with duplexing. All bullets get full-formed whether for the .451 barrel or the .458 barrel. Beginning to feel like a dinosaur. Nothing wrong at all with "old school", all those old Savages and 209 guns built in the last several years still get it done on a regular basis, the deer don't know the difference between them.
If i had to carry a 209 gun from 10 years ago I would still have confidence it would do anything I ask of it.

Got stuff ready. Bullet fit of 225 fury and lbh is perfect in the one pacnor barrel and very tight in another but doable. Planning on vegi wad as that’s all I have. Velocity 2400ish at 57-58 gr H4198? I just like to know what to expect in case it’s way off.

I think 2400-2500 is a good estimate.
