I took a trip to the range Friday to finish a load test. The load was LC brass 150gr Nosler BT and 44.5gr 8208xbr. This load produced a group sub moa at .790 and is also a max charge per IMR's web site. This round hits jam at 2.940 and my max for my magazine is 2.860. So, If was to start increasing length at what increments should I start with? Noslers forum states .015 off the lands and move back from there. .790 is not bad but it's just my nature to want more! PS. I know i need to get a comparitor to better measure cartridges just have'nt got there yet. Thanks Dave.

Forgot to mention I seated the bullets at 2.800 and I used Fed 210 primers

Yankee, you definitely need to get a comparitor for those measurements, I've seen lots of variance in OAL when measured on the tips, even tho seated with no die adjustments. After using a comparitor you will be able to truly measure your desired seat depth changes. I also load for a 308 in a savage FCP10SR, no matter what i do that gun seems to hover around .75 to 1" with 168 SMK. I have noticed a lot of pressure difference in seating bullets so i got an annealer, that seems to make all cases "feel" the same when seating. Hopefully this will help shrink my groups as well, since neck tension should be closer to same. With today's component supply i would probably make .010" adjustments, some guys in the F-class world use .003-.005, but that would burn up lots of supply. I have seen a .015 change make a gun go from ok to spectacular too. Good luck

I was told they have comparitors at my local Bass Pro will likely make the trip in the am. with 150gr pills being in short supply I kinda got to be careful with my consumption. Groups like the one I shot are good enough for deer all day but I still wanna tighten it up a little. I'm currently building my own annealing system as it doesn't seem to be rocket science. I wish they would design these dat gum magazines a little longer! Many thanks!

I built my annealer from Amazon motors and parts, and yes i know what you mean, wife's 7-08 i load to 2.885 and mag is 2.910. Have to make sure they are all the way to back of mag or it won't work
