Well I have been testing and sorting and prepping this brass, The other day I tested 33 pieces and check the velocity with each case and came away with 25 really good ones and the others would be for sighters. So I loaded up my match load for my heavy dasher and went to the 1k range this morning because conditions were mint. I shot 105gr JLK bullets and BR4 primers and 31.00 grs of H4895 that's what this gun likes with Lapua cases. So this was a good test for the Alpha and they didn't disappointment me. 10 shots in 3.096 is the best this gun has shot so the concern that the Alpha has a .080 flash hole has no merit the case is super strong biggest problem is the primers pockets are to tight for any store bought primer pocket tools I modified mine to fit the primer pocket so I could cut them deeper they are .121 I went to .125 deep.

Did you have the new Alpha with the new case head design? I really pounded this stuff and I don't have any issues with expansion or hard bolt lift. We tested it in 3 different rifles. What action are you using on the BRA? A Remington will not handle the same loads as my Pierce and defiance actions.
The JLK 105 VLD I put into the lands but I have shot it all the way up to .050 and it shot well. My heavy gun is only running 2920fps that's were it shoots the best my light guns are the exact opposite they like 3040fps every gun is different.
A 3 inch 10 shot group does not come along very often I have shot lots of 8&9 shot groups but to get 10 in the 3.00 bracket is rare especially on our range.

You might have the early brass. Bat model B is a good action so that wasn't the problem. I would try jamming them. Take your firing pin out of the bolt and seat the bullet out into the lands and get a noticeable click at the top of your bolt lift and look at the marks on your bullet depending on how much neck tension your using but don't jam them to the point that it would pull the bullet out of the case if you had to remove a unfired case. Nobody likes spilled powder in the chamber and lug area.
