So, basically drill a pilot hole on the bullet nose, screw the threaded extractor into the hole and pull the bullet out. A few questions out of curiousity:
1) Does the turning force of the pilot drill or extractor bit ever spin the bullet and cause a problem getting a good "bite"or are most sabotless bullets tight enough to stay still? 2) After you get the bullet out and pour out the 2nd charge, do you shoot the 1st loaded bullet or do you pull that one as well? Wondering if enough powder from the second load is wedged between the bullet nose and barrel from the 1st load? And is that dangerous? 3) does the boring bit have any problems starting a hole with a bullet that has a sharp point. If so, is a third bit that shaves the top of the bullet flat a good idea?
I assume that pulling the breech plug and dumping the charge and then pushing out the 2 bullets with a powder charge inbetween is both messy and potentially hard to do if both bullets are fairly tight and there is a compressable product inbetween them.
Cool stuff.

Cool stuff. You have the right idea, but you're working on the wrong end of the bullet. The breech plug is removed, and you drill the hole in the bottom of the bullet from the breech end. I will make a video of how this tool works next week and get it posted so to eliminate any confusion.

Ok cool. The rod was so long that I never thought you were operating it from the rear. Thanks

This tool works great as long as you don't hammer the crap out the bullet to try to push it out or hammer the bullet on the other end to try to push it out the breech end, if you do you will simply swell both bullets and they will have to be drilled out to relieve the pressure. I conceived and built this tool out of necessity, on the first shoot it went along I extracted a double load for a gent in 10 minutes from start to finish, otherwise he was done for the day, or several days until he had it drilled out, this tool can save the day or a hunt, cheap insurance IMO. I have used my original tool several times on guys guns and it turns an otherwise dead end into sigh of relief, it works on both cup and core or mono bullets, I have used it on both. to those that think you can drive a double load out of the barrel? forget it! don't even try, you will simply tighten it to the point that it MUST be drilled out.
Jeff's looks a lot better than the original but both work the same, very simple to use.
never think I'm too smart to double load a charge, hopefully you never do. I have used this tool on like 6 different guns in the last 3 years, all but one it pulled without a hitch, the one had two bullets hammered to death before they got it to me, it had to be drilled out.
I'm not pushing this tool because I came up with it but because It works, plain and simple, every avid SML guy or group of guys need one to share, pray you never need it but when you do it's worth every penny and then some.
