Decided to treat the Mrs. & myself to a fancy home cooked Lobster dinner tonight. Aside from almost catching the Kitchen on fire it came out great!
NOTE TO SELF: Drink less beer prior to attempting to Flambé anything next time .
Meant to take some pics but got a little side tracked deciding if I needed to call the Fire Dept. or not.
All ended well, dinner was great and house is still standing.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!!!!

Lobster is hard to come by in my neck of the woods but good shrimp are as well, I'm too far inland I guess. I envy you guys that are close to the coast as I really enjoy seafood. guess I have to settle for backstrap and wild turkey..

I could eat the woods empty.
I don't know where you are located, I assume a rural area, but if there are any major cities within reasonable driving distance check to see if they have a Restaurant Depot there. They supply local restaurants with just about everything, including fresh seafood daily. And their prices are very cheap compared to retail.
You need a membership card to get in but all you need to get one is a city business lic. (doesn't even have to be food industry related, any kind will do). Or anyone you know with a business lic. can join as they give that person several "scan cards" and they can give them out to whoever they want for access to the store.
Merry Christmas!

around here, lobster is cheaper than beef. and theres a world of difference between fresh shrimp, and the frozen supermarket. Im a commercial fisherman, To me, a good cut of venison is where its at. You always seem to want what you dont have. My Father was a commercial fisherman, I remember as a kid a huge portion of our diet was seafood, whatever dad brought home from work and cleaned. I vividly remember my sister complaining "Lobster again? Cant we have hot dogs?" I still eat a lot of fish, but its a special thing on venison night.

Yeah YR, they were Maine Lobsters. But I didn't boil them, I used this recipe instead cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/11611-jasper-whites-pan-roasted-lobster just for something a little fancier for Christmas. The incorporation of the "Tamalley" into the pan sauce gives it a nice oceanic flavor. But typically, I will either steam or boil them. Ain't never had a bad lobster (other than when someone over-cooked them)!
