Hey y’all. Just wondering is anyone has shot any deer with the Hornady interlock 452 245gr . Think it was designed for the 450 bushmaster . Shot some this morning very accurate in my Remington 700 SML .45 65grs H4198 with wool wads . Groups around 1/2 @ 100. www.midwayusa.com/product/1021205831

I think they definitely will need a wad due to the slight bevel on the base. For best accuracy in these SML's, you want the base to be flat. The exception might be with Full Formed bullets. If your looking for a bullet around that weight, you might look at the 250 gr. Fury. It's core is bonded to the jacket. These are also very accurate and will work without a wad. For extreme accuracy in that weight (a bit more frangible), the Pittman 250 Accumax would be my choice.

I agree with Richard that bullet base looks similar to a 240xtp mag and I just shot some of them the other day with a wool wad and they produced 1" groups which for hunting is sufficient for me. That being said I may still use Barnes copper solids. I don't get long shots where I hunt so high BC is really not an issue for me.

So are y’all annealing the Barnes bullets before you run them in the die ? Also are you knurling them . I have shot some of the Barnes 250 TEZ’s they are dynamite at 100 shot a 0.46 but I am falling apart at 200 2-3 inch groups . My ES is not crazy . I am not knurling them up at all running them in swing Lock on like a 1 or 2 and they load pretty easy but not loose . Also in a rifle barrel that’s dirty . I really have been enjoying shooting this rifle . But something tells me that a wise man would buy the Pittman Hardcores Hardcores with the smoking BC’s and stop jerking around 😂

I don't get any shots that far in the woods where I hunt. For precision shooting there are no bullets I know of that compare to Kyle's

One review on the InterLock said it performed better on deer than the FTX. I would think it would work well if you don't push them too fast, another review mentioned Hornady stated 2500fps max.
No annealing required with the Barnes. I knurl mine before I Full Form size them, it makes the rifling marks easier to see and bumps them up a bit in diameter. Barnes bullets are hard to beat for 300yds and under IMO. They are very accurate and perform great. I've shot the TEZ, XPB, and TSX's, I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with any of them.
