So I own two Winchester shotguns. A Super X3 and the new Super X4. The SX3 I bought probably 10 years ago. It has their Mossy Oak "Dura-Touch" finish. It's kind of a soft rubber coating they used to use. I always liked it because of the increased grip it gave on the gun. Well, I no longer like it. The finish has begun deteriorating. It is now extremely sticky and sliding off the plastic stock. Apparently this is a known issue. The shotgun is now boxed up and off to Winchester for repair. At no cost they are going to replace the stock and re dip the entire shotgun. So anyone out there who might have the same issue with their Dura-Touch finish, get on the website www.winchesterguns.com and scroll down to the Dura-Touch claim report link to get your gun fixed. I'll report more when I receive it back. |

Great heads-up. I had same issues with my CVA Apex and they sent me new stocks.

I have 2 SX-4s, one is fine , the other was treated roughly before I got it and it has some issues, might have to send it in for a redo.
couldn't resist at the price I got it for, good shooting guns, gave the nicer one to my boy.

I have s3 and 2 browning gold 10. Both brownings now wear just there plain dip on plastic that does not match the metal and s3 that was dip completely in upland green cami kinda sucks on a waterfowl gun. I will not buy a gun with Dura touch finish if you get high humidty it will become sticky and then delaminates from surface

Interesting tedb. I'll have to see how they do on my SX3. I've been pleased (other than the Dura-Touch) with both versions of the Super X. My SX3 has easily seen 5,000 rounds. With nearly 100% reliability. I shoot reloads and target loads a lot. It has malfunctioned a couple times. But that was related to the ammo it was being fed.

Oh I have no problem with the function of shotguns. Both of 10ga have over 100,000 yes that’s not a misprint. SX-3 has close to 20k of all types of shells

Well, received word from Winchester today. Estimated completion date for my SX3 is Feb. 14th.... I sure hope it arrives sooner than that.

Took just shy of 7 months with sx3 and longer on the 10ga but there was also a problem they found. They are slow but they will fixes everything wrong with even if you didn’t know it
