Another Memorial Day has come in which we honor those who have fallen so that we can be the "home of the free". In today's political climate in which socialism is being more and more pushed on us, it is becoming more clear that too much of our population no longer cherishes being the home of the free. What would our WWI and WWII fallen soldiers think of today's Americans? Would they wonder what they died for? Did they die in vain? Will we become much like the police states which they defeated?
The greatest warrior who ever lived did not fight with guns, armor, or missiles. He fought with heavenly love. He practiced what he preached, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13. He died to be a friend to us all, that we may live in an eternal land free of war, hate and sin, all for the simple act of recognizing Him as Lord and Savior, confessing our sins, and asking Him to come into our hearts.
Our country may very well go away, but Heaven will always stay.
