Yesterday was our youth day here in NJ. Kinda cold and rainy but a good day. This was my boys first turkey hunt and we had birds gobbling first thing. Set up in a blind over our food plot and 6 jakes come out and he decided to roll one over. Watched them fight with the 1/4 strut jake decoy for a couple minutes. Back to the house by 0700. We live in the southern part of the state where it is still very rural and we are fortunate to have a 42 acre back yard. He took this bird with the 20 gauge Encore I posted about below at about 30 yards. I can say I am really impressed with TSS shot. Its expensive but your only shooting a couple shells each year once dialed in. Attachments:

Very nice! Congrats to you both. My son killed his 2nd turkey here in Maryland on youth day. It is definitely a great experience and a moment we as fathers will never forget.

Congratulations! I got to find out it’s way more fun to watch the kid shoot one than I ever had hunting them.
