Well, its raining "cats and dogs" here and I am hoping for a slight break so the dogs can get out to POOP! In the meantime, thought I would put together a "continuing" post on my muzzle loader rebuild. Since I am now a ONE muzzle loader guy, I will be out of the testing for the next two months. Hopefully It will be done by the April Challenge
I have included a few pictures of the before and will update as things progress.

So here is the plan:
The action has been sent out to "Mahovsky's Metalife" plating in Pa. It will be hard chromed. They received it this past Monday and gave me a 40 day turn around.
I ordered a new Brux 1 - 18 barrel with 1.3" on the breech end for 6" and then straight tapering to one inch at the muzzle. It will sport one of Hank's new tactical/radial brakes finished flush with barrel; I am keeping the length at 29"
The forend of the stock will be transformed with that new aluminum plate. The forend itself will be fiberglassed to contour with the plate.
There were a few points on the back of the stock that were getting nicked by removal of the bolt (due to the Direct Ignition) Those areas will be addressed with possibly aluminum inserts........not totally decided? With the new plate under the forend and the extra weight of the barrel, I believe the rifle will come in at around 18 lbs. or two more than it was.
Not a thing wrong with the old barrel, just looking to add a new look and see if the 1 - 18 twist works any better than the 1 - 20? Oh, and the stock will get a new paint job...............Not sure yet want I want to do or what color?.............seriously thinking my old Corvette yellow (still have some of that lacquer on the shelf) or possibly a bright red?
And then ............who knows?
Man, it raining like a cow Peeing on a flat rock!!!!!!!
