Check out this old girl. Nailed her at 50yd with 200gr, 40cal SST out of same Savage 10ml2. Quartering away, she ran 25-30yd in a circle. Golf ball sized entrance hole, bits and pieces at exit that did make it out. I saw the blood dumping out of entrance hole. She is a big old girl. I did not weigh her, but I bet 140# no problem. image upload free direct link She looks like a side of beef here. Lol. There was no heart left to be found. That bullet came apart like a shotgun blast. I have been alternating 195bx and 200sst.

I bet we both wish that there were an aerodynamic monolithic 40 cal bullet for sabots. The 40 CEB comes closest.

in the early 80's here in central Indiana locally I had a doe go 126lbs field dressed which was a doe freak at that time here locally, about 8 yrs ago my largest was 148lbs FD, read about Tars 200lb doe in western Indiana yrs back.... then about 5 yrs ago I saw this doe many times from 250yds to as little as 30yds,every sighting at first thought it was a buck but a few times 2 yearlings were trailing her with every step- I let her go many times- have not seen her in the last 2 yrs figure she is not alive now but what a memory. she was definitely 200lbs + FD.
congrats on your nice doe & others!
