Gentlemen-
I have a 45 Rempac that Hillbill made me a few years back. So far my "go to" load is 63g of 4198 with a 200 sst with a blue harvester sabot. I have some 195 Barnes laying around I would like to mess with the next chance I get.
So my question is....when you guys are knurling your 195s.....what diameter are you looking for? I grabbed a handful of them and they measured +/- .3995
Thanks in advance

I never measured mine but always tried to keep a consistent pressure and roll distance, the idea is to get a good grip between the sabot and bullet. I always used a set of double cut files (Nicholson) or other good quality and they knurl rather quickly.
I haven't knurled any in a long spell, maybe some sabot shooters will reply...
Good to see you on the board by the way!

I don't try to increase the diameter when I knurl my .400 bullets for use in my RemPac .458. What I try to do is just cut some lines on the bearing surface of the bullet so that it can grab the sabot. I now shoot all of my 200 grain SSTs and 195 Barnes this way. I use a single cut file on top, and a pine board on bottom. The end result looks like the bullet in the pic below. The little scored lines really grab the sabot and will leave small cuts/gouges on the inside of the recovered sabots. It seems to work for me, but I've got a really tight barrel.
