You and me both... LOL
Would love to see a deer like that with weapon in hand. He won't be hard to recognize with that slanted left 4...
Given the current situation, my standards are dropping. Haven't shot a buck in Ohio since 2014. Lots of does, just haven't made it happen with a shooter. I'd be overjoyed with a 130 at this point. LOL For sure I hope I get a crack at the big one this fall. Just have MINIMAL time from work to put it together. Here's to hoping he makes a mistake in the time I have to track him down. He'll have to have a really bad/unlucky day. LOL

I’ll shoot Ohio does any day of the week over a small non wall hanger buck. Worth the wait in my opinion.

Trophy is all in the eye of the beholder. I am more happy seeing a youth shoot a fawn or fork than me shooting a big one (Mybe me shooting a giant would equal). A big buck in Maine, Alabama, or Iowa are different things also. In my case my deer vs ones 20 miles east there is a big difference. The amount of time one has to spend scouting prepping and time in stand can make a huge difference in expectations. I have always felt if it’s a trophy to you TAKE IT. Them does walk out and all I can see is those little vacuum sealed trophies for the freezer. I have a neighbor that has put many 130’s on his wall if he feels a 3 year old deer is worth shoulder mounting I cannot knock him for shooting them. I just can’t wait till it gets old for him and he waits and lets them grow another year.

Yeah, its tough to shoot 3 year old when you know whats out there. But with only a handful of days annually in the woods its tough to let deer after deer walk past. LOL I can't realistically expect to get an opportunity at a 4+ year old deer. Its been a long time since I had such an opportunity. The cameras show me whats going on while I work. LOL

I’m sure gonna give him fits! Had this buck at 22 yards last year but passed him for a 3 year old. Kind of glad I did!

Olebud how many bucks do you have to get pictures of in your area to get one like that? I hope he gives you an opportunity to put him in your freezer.

Around here they are pretty rare. All our neighbors shoot any buck with 3 on one side or bigger, so they don’t typically make it past 2 1/2. We will have 2-3 bucks out of 30 like this at best. My father in law feeds year round and grows more than most. We started supplementing 20% cattle range cubes a few years back. If you can keep them dry, the deer wear em out, and seems to really add antler!

Bill I think is a 3 year old maybe 4. If he makes it threw this year he will probably have my attention next year. Had a fisher stroll by yesterday. I have never gotten to see fawn-velvet buck interaction on camera till today.

It’s getting closer! I did a final mowing and “burn down” on all my plots this past weekend. If I get a rain forecast in the next week or so I’ll plant. Our soil is super sandy so doesn’t hold much water. I’ve been letting my cameras “soak” for almost 2 weeks. I’ll fill feeders and check them this weekend.
