I'm still on the fence about this one (I've still got a .450 to sort out).
IF I get one, I'd probably get a bolt gun to get the most out of the round. Shouldn't be too hard to get this one up to 357 maximum levels. If components are readily available I'd probably use the 150 grain bullets and a max load of 'Lil Gun. Shouldn't be too tough to make the factory loads look pretty pedestrian...

The maximum is a heck of a round. I've been really impressed with its performance on deer as well. If the 350 has the same effect it should be solid.
If you build a 450 what platform are you considering?

I have several buddies with the Ruger, and they are all moa with factory loads. Local place has the 18" green stock, Vortex package for $549 right now.

That's not too shabby... I really like the way my Ruger .450 shoots. When I do my part it is a sub-moa rifle.
Checking online I see that complete 350 uppers can be had for <$400... Not bad for the works plus a magazine.

A buddy talked me into a 350 upper... It's on the way.
I'll let you all know how it shoots.

For sure. May get the chance to play in the next day or so. I'm gonna run down there today, time permitting.
Hope the uppers are in. I've got a scope waiting... LOL

I got the chance to send a few rounds down range with the 350.
Initial impressions - its very low recoil in the AR platform. Honestly not much more than a .223. Seems to be fairly accurate, although I just got the scope close, need to get some more bench time. Should be a really fun deer rifle.

Sounds like I was hoping. Good kid AR. Now MN needs to make straight walled cartridges legal for slug zones.

Well, put two does on the ground with the 350 on friday morning. Both shots about 100 yards with the Winchester factory 150gr deer season XP load.
1st deer was DRT, not a step. Quartering away shot. Impact was back of the ribs, bullet didn't exit the offside shoulder. 2nd was perfectly broadside, low chest shot, stumbled about 15 yards. That was it. No fuss, just dead deer. LOL
A friend got a Ruger American Predator in 350 with a 22" barrel. So far two deer killed with the Hornady 170gr interlock load. Same deal, 8 pt and a doe down. Doe was a neck shot at about 80 yards, pretty impressive damage.
A second friend has killed a couple with handloaded 140gr FTXs. One was 220 yards - drt. He's loving his as well.
So far seeing very similar results to what I'm used to with the 357 Maximum. 6 kills with three different loads does not represent significant data, but its looking like the 350 will do the trick. I'm gonna try to get down south for 2nd gun season and see if I can't stack up a couple more. I may not get any field testing in with the 450...
