About a month and a half a go I put a new Krieger 30 Cal 1-10 twist barrel on my 17lb competition gun. I had several 300WSM in the past so I started off with my go to loads and surprisingly I was not getting small groups out of this new barrel after 100 rounds I was ready to take it off. This gun had a 12x42x56 NF Bench rest scope which has been very reliable in the Past but like anything mechanical if will fail at some point and this one showed up under the recoil of a 300WSM. It would shoot 3 in a bug hole at 100yards and then the next two would jump out the group to the right a good 3/8 of a inch It did it three groups in a row. Not a good thing to say the least.
So I had two choices blame the barrel or the scope I took the scope off and put on a 8x32x56 Sightron and loaded up the same loads and this time no more fliers. I had a chance to test this gun today at 1,000 yards for the first time using 210gr SMK jumping .020 using 62.2grs of RL 16 and a Br2 primer conditions were not great at the 1,000 yard range so I hammered 10 off as fast I could the gun shot 5.5 inches with 8 really stacked together so the new barrel will shoot.
I hate to blame scopes but sometimes they cause weird problems

Any brand scope can and will fail given enough abuse, NF tends to hold up well but I have seen them fail too.
These MLs we shoot have killed about everything, I have mounted a BUNCH of different scopes, some very good scopes too, Including NF Zeiss Swaro etc, high dollar scopes die too, some just tend to hold up better then others.

A buddy of mine has a S&B high end target scope. It died last year he sent it back for repairs here in USA they had to send it back to Germany it took 4 months the other day while at the 1,000 yard range he got to look through it for the first time at 1,000 yards It was clear put the parallax adjustment didn't work it had about one foot of up and down movement and you couldn't get it out of the scope so today he pulled it back off and sent it back for repairs again hopefully they can fix it in less than 4 months.
I am glad that the Krieger is going to shoot I did buy another MullerWorks 30 Cal 1-10 twist with 5R cut rifling just in case not a big fan of 5R rifling but I do have a Shilen 4 groove Ratchet rifling barrel in a 6.5 that has been really good you never now how good a barrel is until you start shooting it. Bore scoping only shows bad machine work I have seen barrels that look flawless and didn't shoot worth a shit.
