Well guys, I promised the guys at work that is bring in a big pan of deer back straps this week because I was pretty positive I'd kill a couple doe over the weekend, so between Kyle and I, I was able to make good on my promis.. I cut the back straps up Monday and let them soak in a marinade sauce I concocted up using A1, whoostershires, some sweet baby rays, a little liquid smoke and some steak seasoning. This morning I started with a big aluminum pan and covered the bottom with a pound of bacon. Added the meat, Added the potatoes Added the carrots Then the onions And we cooked it on a grill at work for about three hours.. I will admit we over cooked it buy probably an hour but we had only one burner burning on the grill and had it set on low. Even though it was a little more done than I would have wanted it to be the six of us working tonight did not have a problem eating it all up. Next time I will add a stick of butter and try to cook it on lower heat.

Good idea using the bacon, I will have to try that[/quote I though using the bacon would make enough grease to help cook the deer meat, but I actually think it made it burn easier on the bottom. Next time I'll add a stick of butter along with the bacon.

Beats Micky D's by a long shot!! It don't get any better than backstraps off of medium sized does. Tasty!

I have just enough meat left to do one more pan. I think I will cook it up tomorrow.
