I am starting to think about putting an AR10 together. It will be used in tactical matches. I know dropping $3000 right now will not work. So I am looking to put one together. Any recommendation on the receivers and barrels? I have found a few manufacturers that sell matching uppers and lowers. I was thinking about a Krieger barrel
Thanks Ronnie

I have a POF and like it.
They have a new model out built on a 15 size frame, If I were in the market that's exactly what I would go for. I have built a lot of ARs, used a lot of different receivers, honestly you can build a great shooting gun with a decent forged receiver set and just use a very good quality barrel/ bolt etc and have a very reliable accurate gun. any of the top barrel makers would be good on the barrel, I would really consider a JP lightweight carrier and buffer system with a good adjustable gas block, money well spent. you can tune it to run like a sewing machine.

Thanks for the information. I have seen uppers and lowers sets for $199 to as much as you want to spend. I was thinking the barrel and gas system would be most important and a good trigger.

Barrel, bolt, carrier group, all very important. Trigger? as much so as a really good barrel. lots of great AR triggers out there now, I run Geissele in mine, love them but there at lots of other good ones.
I have a friend that built a 6.5 creed on a Mega Machine Monolithic set, brux 8 twist barrel, JP bolt and carrier group, JP buffer system, SLR adj gas block, don't remember the trigger but it shoots amazing groups and he says it is super smooth
