#1-just slightly tighter bullet fit-say approx. 2-3lbs tighter loading resistance from the past #2-cooler weather-high 40's #3- new lot of h4198 vs. old lot vs. I4198-did not chrono any for this competition #4-maybe just likes bullbag turned sidesways & cheaper rearbag(protector) vs. the seb co-axial rest.
**recent local 100yd. mz competition this last sat. & just a little of work the past week left me thinking** brain dead......
last week shooting getting ready for this comp really not much shooting but made multiple changes fwiw mainly shooting 3shot groups & monitoring from cold bore but no answers & maybe just as well!
last week putting I4198 vs. H4198 found my groups were approx. .1 tighter @ the 100yd mark...fwiw
once settling on a couple of charges all the sudden H4198(new jug) @ 73.0 w/ 327mh stood out..done this in the past with old H4198 jug.
.. load was loving the x-ring all week long....so pre-driving approx. 10 miles launched 2 for exact dial in from home range-bingo so off I go.
@competition I elected to not practice or shoot a fouler..time from last shot home range to approx. 1st shot in comp was approx. 3hrs.
our competitions at this shoot requires every person to use same bags/boards & etc..then we draw for shooting position-1st time ever I drew # 1 shooter.
so on to the line..as I was loading my first load the funnel clogged-thought oh boy here it goes again, dumped the vial remains & funnel pulling up gently as to take a look to see if powder kernals were dropping into barrel-none that I saw so turned gun upside down tapping looking for some that might have gotten into the bore-again nothing that I saw came out....hmmmmm no extra wad stuck in funnel etc so tossed the vial & reached for a new one.
loaded & with winds being very shifty & no wind flags down range took a look @ the grass movement-decided to go straight 10 ring x & see what happens-result-9' o'clock -X just in by a smidge. nice
shot # 2 elected to do the same- again connecting I almost the same bullet hole- nice approx. 2 shot .142grp shot # 3 elected to hold just a little more into the conditions(3 o'clock withing the x ring) as I was slightly nervous about losing a X since playing on the very edge/I really wanted to finish 30/3x to force a possible shoot off if necessary as the traveling trophy was at stake. shot went exactly were my hold-off with wind drift was....whew...with the hold-off shot(#3) approx. .552
and the mz traveling trophy remains for another year holding it 3 straight yrs now.
time will tell I suppose/fwiw

thx all for the kind words. that traveling trophy could have very well been sitting in xrings garage had he been able to attend. he had to work & he called me early,i was bummed & so were others at the range as they were expecting a bigger showdown & no doubt especially with xrings mz back shooting again.
the range is private invitation only with a school bus plastered with engraved brass nameplates(winners) for years & years how many I don't know but I'm really the newcomer as I have been shooting there when I can for 4-5 years. I was in awe a few years ago viewing all the nostalgia & thinking what a great tradition that has been going on & thankful xring had a hand in my invitation's. the school bus also serves as a shelter lunch place when weather is bad. just like ky challenge food is spectacular & plentiful & the talk is about accuracy along with some fun bs'ing
it was very pleasing to hear comments like" that gun is bada$$" & comments like I have never seen anything like that in mz accuracy. I let a couple gents shoot mine & they were pleased with the recoil & the way the gun handled.
of course I told them about ky challenge & the great shooters there along with accomplishments of very precision shooters that congregate there for a great time.
then I got asked about some mz shooting 4000+fps>then got asked if I know anything about some gent that head shoots deer with awesome precision results.

Great shooting Jeff. I have had a lot of people at the range when I'm shooting mine that can't believe how accurate these ML's are. They where surprised when I had two hits in a row on the 600yd steel this weekend, Shooting the 335 APB's.

I have been using 120 gr. H4831 with the 327MH and 335APB's. Both seem to shoot very good at 100yds, but the 335's seem to shoot better at longer distances in my gun. Might just need to tweak the load some to get them to shoot just as good.

Have not chronographed it, going by the ballistic program I use it is somewhere between 2650 maybe a little faster.
