Well I liked the Caldwell magnum field pod. It's downfall was I had to make lots of movement to shoot behind me. I liked the Caldwell chair pod. The chair is too low and the arm only has two articulations. The tree pod is a great platform. It is a little difficult to use in ground blinds and requires moving your chair when used in a shooting house. My solution adapt a Caldwell treepod to be used on a Cabelas mag blind chair. url=https://postimg.cc/image/dzd6yhwlp/] [/url]

Well after using I found it to be a pain to get in and out of chair so I made a change. Having the post come up the side is much better.

Well I had a question on this yesterday so I thought I’d say I have been very happy with this setup and all my hunting partners that I have built these for are happy also. The only modification I have made is to extend the upright a couple inches past the chair so you leg doesn’t rest on it all day. Not a problem just an annoyance after days of sitting.

Cool idea! I am still using a bag chair and a homemade rest on a camera tripod, or folding table setup. They work good either way, but zero chance to shoot behind like you said. I am handy at fabrication, so will do some homework and look into something similar to your setup. I am finding I really enjoy ground blind hunting for its comfort, weatherproof, and safety they afford.
