Tough decision tree stand or play with the new encore Jeff finished for me . The pro and cons of both ..... strictly my opinion. #1 ignition and extractor HIS 2nd to NONE they work flawlessly in both guns in any weather condition . Weight... Encore weighs in at 9.8pounds H&R is 9.4 pounds. so weight is a mute point . Accuracy with same load 56 gr H4198 275 be H&R and Encore are both equal at 100 yards ( haven't shot encore any further ... yet ) H&R will hold a 1" group at 200 and a 3" group at 300 if i do my part . Both have inexpensive glass H&R has a Nikon 3x9 Encore has a Hawke 3x9 mil dot .
Too me the difference is barrel length . the H&R has a 29" with Jeffs crown the encore has a 24" begerra factory crown . The h&R is a more comfortable gun to shoot a lot less barrel jump . Also the H&R will allow a variety of .451 and .452 bullets with some sizing the Begerra .452 arent goin down with out a fight . Parkers have a nice fit full length . Just some observations on my part.
Which one am i most likely to grab on my way to the stand ? this very minute it would be the H&R but i have time till gun season to play some more with the encore ........ just one more side note H&R are no longer produced . That was my reasoning in going with a prohunter ....... next project may very well be a 28 " custom barrel ......... hint hint hank ?
