We still have a couple of weeks before muzzleloader opens in VA. It is the last saturday of the month.
I will be in KY for deer season the 2nd Saturday of NOV. My in laws are in Western KY, so their season is different from Eastern Ky where Jeff lives. They get 10 days of firearm season in NOV, then a week of muzzleloader season in Dec and that is it. Very short season is the western part of the state.
I am ready

I'm hoping to go Saturday, I will have to work at the RR till 11:00 that puts me home at midnight. It's an hours drive to the farm so I haven't decided if I want to sleep in my bed at home, get up early and head over or go over after work and stay in the cabin. Probably leaning towards driving over in the am,, I will only get to hunt till noon as I have to be back to work at 3:00 so hunting on Sunday will be the same way.. Lots of driving and very little sleep this weekend.. I would like to connect with one of those big bucks that running around on the farm.,, everyone has seen them but me,,, maybe I'll get lucky or Mindy if I can talk her into shooting the ML...

It sucks for me, ML season doesn't start here till December and its only ten days. Also if I tag out in regular gun season ( I usually do) I don't get to hunt.

After killin that elk in wyoming i need a big kick to get in the whitetail woods. Archery season here in ny ,firearms youth hunt was last weekend ,our regular gun season isnt till middle of november with a late muzzle loader season a week after , but lots of leaves still on the trees , its been warm , little bucks r scrapin but the bigger guys arent really into it yet . Ny has been playin games with our whitetail huntin last couple of yrs. Politcs and game management just doesnt mix .

update:
saw several smallish bucks but no shooters, big boys are just not roaming around yet on my lease, didn't shoot any does as I really wasn't sure how many we really have but after the weekend survey we have a good number so I might pop a couple in a week or so with the bow.
had a friend that hunts another county that killed a 130s and they also saw lots of small stuff.
in a couple weeks things will really change and Im looking forward to it...

PA's early muzzleloader season runs from October 17th until October 24. Doe only, mine is at the butchers now. Jeff did all of the metal, 275 BE with 78gr IMR4198; complete past through and no tracking required.
