Anybody have any more recent reviews on the Nightforce SHV lineup? I am looking at scopes for a couple centerfire builds. Read a few reviews on LongRangeHunting that were very positive. For a pure hunting rig I am having trouble justifying the cost of the higher end models that are nearly double the price, especially when they have the same glass as the NSX. From what the night force reps told me the big difference is more features on the higher end scopes.

I have been very happy with my 4-14x50 F1. Compares very well to my NSX. I wish the SHV line had more 50mm obj. options. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

My SHV 4-14x50 F1 has performed very well, crisp glass every bit as good as the NXS. The illumination feature is actually better on SHV than NXS. the windage is capped on SHV and in general I would say the adjustment Turrets and features are a good step up on the NXS. The NXS zero stop feature is also more robust than the SHV zero stop which use shims/washers. Both hold zero well, for the money the SHV is a great product.

Thanks guys. I ended up with an ATACR 4-16x50. I know big jump in $$. I wanted SFP and no bigger than 50MM objective. I agree than only the center crosshair illumination is a much nicer feature. From what I have read and talked with people the glass quality is a significant jump.
