I burn wood during the winter mounts to save money and exorcise. I've been using a craftsman 20" 50cc that took a dump yesterday. While I was at a local shop I found a nicely used MS250 Stihl which was what I wanted. An 18" 45cc chainsaw because I felt the 20" was too big. The new saws were running $340 and I got this one for $225, always love finding good deals! Well my kids and I are off to get our wood pile started! My little helpers.

That is a heckuva saw. I have one. The only time I looked back was to see the tree falling. Got the 026 with 18" bar too.
DO NOT use ethanol in it.

Yeah I only use premium gas in my saws hard to find gas without ethanol anymore. Might start buying an additive for the ethanol gas if I have too. At the moment as long as I can find gas without it then I'll use it for now.
I usually never have issues with my saws but everyone else I know does and they all use ethanol.

One thing i learned the hard way, try not to twist and pull the saw and bar when and if it gets stuck in a cut. I did that and the drive shaft being stressed made a bearing go out, then I lost the suction and no fuel pumped to carb. Ended up putting a new long block in the saw along with a bunch of the integral parts. Needless to say I always have a wedge and bfh along when cutting wood.

I have had the ms25 for 10 years now. I burn about 4 cords of wood a year and it does all my cutting.

hard to beat the Sthils. THe additive will help out with the ethanol.

Right now I use a cap full of seafoam for every gallon of gas. I use premium gas and make sure it's always premium.
I do have a question they told me 50/1 gas to oil but all my other saws were 40/1 fit those who run the same saw what's your mixture?
I burn 4-6 cords of wood a year and I also cut for my dad who burns 2-4 cords a year also. I cut for my wife's grandparents also however only when they need wood. Usually they find free stuff around town.

Talking about cutting wood... I need to cut some myself.. I have a sthil 044 and a huscavarna 346. Both saws are good cutters and I burn pump gas 87 octane with a oil mixture of 32:1.. A little rich never hurts but lean will burn them up on a hot day... I heat my shop entirely with wood and my house is 90% heated with wood. Both the shop and house have wood burning free standing stoves with a blower system that I built years ago and they are still going strong... I can work all winter long with in a tee shirt in the shop and the house stays in the 80's as long as there is a fire in the stove. If the house get under 60 the gas furnace I'll come on.. My propane bill for last winter was $189.00... So I better get some wood cut.....
