Did not Marlin once promote microgroove barrels years ago. Mossberg did microgroove barrels. Marlin may have as well I'm not sure. I know my Dad has a Mossberg semi auto 22 and the barrel is marked with "microgroove". Don't know exactly what is special that makes it microgroove but that's what it's marked.

Yes Marlin made the micro-groove barrels but they were not just shallow rifling grooved barrels. They were shallow rifling grooved barrels but they were narrow grooves with a large number of riffling grooves (initially, 5 microgrooves per 0.10" of bore diameter).
The year is 1950. Paperboy shouts in the street,
"Here! Here! Read all about it! Marlin Introduces Microgrooves. Revolutionizes Industry!"

I had krieger make 3 barrels couple years ago .450/.456 They shot great but were they better than standard .450/.458 i found no difference. Now i personally feel the narrower land 8R rifling from rock creek is beneficial especially smooth form. Beneficial for BH209 and smokeless? yes i think so
