As delivered, the slide hammer and bore guide are in reverse order on the shaft. For operation, the slide hammer should be slid back to the handle. Then the bore guide slides onto the shaft with its tapered end facing the drill end. 1)Remove the barreled action from the stock, remove the bolt and breech plug. 2)Install the drill bit attachment onto the puller shaft. 3)Insert the puller assembly into the receiver, sliding the bore guide in fully. 4)Slide the hammer 1/4" back from the bore guide and tighten the thumbscrew. This will be your visual drill depth. 5)Drill begins. For solids, you will need to apply pressure to the hand wheel while drilling. For jacketed, pressure will be needed but ONLY until the jacket is breached. After that, be careful as the drill bit will literally screw into the lead. Once you have drilled in until the hammer contacts the bore guide, reverse the drill and extract the puller assembly. 6)Remove the drill bit attachment and install the extractor attachment. 7)Install the extractor assembly into the action fully. Rotate the puller clockwise to screw the puller into the bullet. 8)Slide the hammer forcefully rearward as many strokes as necessary to extract the bullet.
