This year I ran 10+ cameras and learned the mature bucks can see the red glow from the cameras. Unless you buy a black out style camera hanging cameras 12' in tree helps with getting pictures of the mature deer. I had to move a swinging licking branch today because I didn't have it over a tail and it wasn't getting much action. I also had the branch to close to the tree so I moved it so it was over a trail and out in the open better. I started making these brackets to screw into the tree and into the bottom of the camera. You can adjust accordingly to focus on the scrape, trail, or bait. 1 Screw Eye: 2 inch 1 Eyebolt: 1/4 x 2 inches (20 threads per inch) 1 Hex bolt: 3/8 x 1 inches 1 Hex nut: 3/8 inch 1 Wing nut: 1/4 inch 3 Washers: 5/16 inch 1 Lock Washer: 3/8 inch

You are right about the deer seeing the infra red light coming on when activated. Nice little mount you crafted there!

Now if I can figure out how to get this dang Primos Proof 2 Camera to quit taking false pictures I'd be happy. I'm running test with this camera, I moved it higher in tree aimed it north east and in the timber to see if the shadows and sun light quit triggering it. If that don't work I'll add strips of tape on the edges of the sensor to narrow is sensing window.
I won't buy anymore Primos cameras but I got to get these to work.

Interesting contraption. How high do you hang them? My only concern is there is no way to secure them to the tree to keep them from walking away. I guess hanging them high enough would remedy that situation but then how to get access to swap cards and batteries?

I use this method on public ground a lot. It's actually harder to see if you don't know its there. Right now its on my family farm for testing because I'm having issues with this brand of camera.
