How many shots will we score at each distance ? Also are you allowed just 1 sighter at each distance ? Im just curious . I have only participated in one event . I cant remember exactly how we did it .

1 sighter at each distance, 3 shots at each distance. all three must be on your target or you are DQ.

Let me play with this a little...................You will need three shots on the paper (don't have to be in the scoring rings, just on the target paper) to get scored for group! On the other hand, you will get credit for any score, even if only one or two shots are in the scoring rings. So, hypothetically, lets say you shoot 3-tens at 100, 200 and 300..............(you now have 90 points) then at 400 you put in two tens and for whatever reason, lose a shot OFF the paper. You are DQ'd for group but have 20 points at 400 for score----------So, you wind up with 110 points and whatever "X's" you may have gotten. You could possible win or be top score shooter but would be SOL for group or the GRAND agg. (combo group and score)

Thank you guys . I just wasnt sure if it was timed you could shoot more than 1 sighter. I like the only 1 sighter . Makes things more challenging . Should be fun . Also it is100 ,200,300 and 400 not 440 correct ? .

Yes, just 100,200,300 and 400 yards. Also you don't have to shoot a sighter if you feel you don't need one.

I was dumb enough not to shoot a sighter at one shoot, cost me big time!

I had to shoot 2 sighters on one yardage last year which iirc (300yds),3 of us all shot the same sighter board almost simultaneously- I did not know which was mine so I asked nobody cared & looked down the line before sighter #2 was launched. # 2 grouped with #1 letting me identify which actually was mine.
before the 1st sighter I had jotted down on paper where the previous bullet holes were-it happens & probably will happen again.
just something to think about.
I also agree w/ Richard about dq's-just let the score be as it is.///jmho

I will definitley shoot a sighter . My numbers tend to change a little from day to day depending on temp and humidity
